About Me

Hello Students, Parents, & Educators!

Thanks for visiting my blog.  The purpose of my blog is to inform my students' parents what's happening in my 7th grade classroom at Innovations Academy.  It's also a resource for students to find enrichment opportunities, resources for assignments and projects, and day to day assignments.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at jennie@innovationsacademy.org.

A little about me ...
I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. I pretty much knew I was going to be a teacher since I was in high school. Teaching is in my blood, my aunts, uncles, and cousins are all teachers in various countries. I completed my bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education at Hofstra University, in Long Island, NY. I’ve taught history for nine years in San Diego, NY and NJ in both middle and high schools. I’ve had experience teaching in both very traditional and non-traditional environments and found myself absolutely in love with teaching in a project-based school. When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my husband and our 5 year old twins.  Also, I love watching and playing basketball, doing arts & crafts, cooking, and being with friends and family. I’m super excited to be a part of the team at Innovations Academy.
