Around The World Project

THE AROUND THE WORLD PROJECT
7th Grade Humanities - Jennie Ganesan

Themes - World History, Geography, & Current Events

Essential Questions - How have other countries influenced the world?
How do people’s lives from other countries compare and
contrast to the lives of Americans?

Project Detail -
We live in a global society with people in our school from many different countries and cultures. Many of the world's problems could be eliminated if we all had a greater understanding of each other. This project will help you learn about a specific country and it's people, history and culture. Students will work in pairs and research a country of their choice.  There will be a variety of activities that will allow students to virtually visit their country and learn deeper about the people, culture, and history.
Your final product will symbolize what you learned about your country and will teach others how your country has influenced the world and/or how it’s different than our country.

Learning Goals
1.  Students will be able to make connections with themselves and people living in other countries.
2.  Students will be able to describe how their final product represents how a country has influenced the world.
3.  Students will practice the following skills:  research, note taking, map making, and public speaking.

Exhibition - Thursday, May 2, 2013  5:00 - 8:00 PM
A part of your project is presenting your country during Exhibition.  There will be time slots that you can sign up for on my blog.
